This book was a joy to read! The author has done a wonderful job of discussing many of the socially taboo topics important to menopausal women. In her words, this book is “menopause myth busting.”
Mandal first discusses how to recognize the changes of perimenopause and menopause, explaining the difference between the terms and what to expect during that time. She then gives a wonderful historical and cultural review of menopause. After that introduction, she gets to the work of “myth busting” in detail. Chapter by chapter, she addresses different symptoms/concerns of menopausal women, with treatment options available. Chapters include discussions of body/weight changes, hair loss, brain fog, breast changes, skin changes, heart health, thyroid disease, vaginal health, night sweats, and bone loss. All is written with a sense of humor and a very positive outlook on the changes to expect.
