NAMS CME

The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. With NAMS education, you can earn the CME credits that you need in your state and for your specialty as well as to maintain your NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner (NCMP) status. NAMS awards AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ to physicians and certificates of participation to others, with the number of pharmacotherapeutics hours specified on many NAMS programs.

Practice Pearls

NEW for 2016: NAMS members may earn continuing medical education (CME) credits or certificates of participation for reading Practice Pearls and successfully completing brief post-tests and evaluations. Practice Pearls is a series of clinical overviews and perspectives that tackle challenging problems in the care of women at midlife and beyond. Each Practice Pearl will offer CME credit and, depending on content, pharmacotherapeutics hours. Practice Pearls CME credits are available for 1 year after the release date.

Nonhormonal Therapy for VMS Position Statement

Nonhormonal management of menopause-associated vasomotor symptoms: 2015 position statement of The North American Menopause Society

This NAMS Position Statement makes evidence-based recommendations so providers can help women make informed decisions about nonhormonal therapy for vasomotor symptoms.

The CME activity provides a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits(2)™. Learners other than physicians will earn a certificate of participation. NAMS has determined that this activity includes 0.75 hours of pharmacotherapeutics education.

Menopause Practice: A Clinician’s Guide, 5th edition

The Clincian’s Guide is NAMS leading professional resource. Written and reviewed in collaboration with dozens of experts in the care and treatment of midlife women, this new edition is an indispensable resource for all practitioners focused on menopause management.

As a CME activity, the guide and accompanying examination provide a maximum of 26.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Learners other than physicians will earn a certificate of participation. NAMS has determined that this activity includes 11.5 hours of pharmacotherapeutics education.

To claim CME credit, please read and study the entire Clinician’s Guide, complete the examination and evaluation, and submit them to NAMS by the expiration date. Certificates will be issued to those who achieve a passing grade of 70%.
