Online submission for CME credits closed on November 30, 2023. If you attended the in-person Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, please print, complete, and return one of the forms above.

  Virtual attendees should obtain their certificate from the Virtual Meeting website.



The 2023 Annual Meeting Main Program, Opening Symposium, and Menopause 101 and Medical Breast and Genetics 101 courses offer opportunities to earn continuing education credits or certificates of participation by attending the events in person or by participating in the OnDemand virtual offering. For nurses and other learners who need to report contact hours of pharmacotherapeutic education, there also will be the option to earn pharmacotherapeutic credits.

The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Learning Objectives

Menopause 101 Course

By participating in this activity, attendees should be able to

  • Review menopause demographics, staging, terminology, and symptoms.
  • Discuss the basic physiology of vasomotor symptoms and treatment options.
  • Explore the constellation of symptoms under the genitourinary syndrome of menopause umbrella.
  • Recognize female sexual disorders at midlife and review management options.
  • Understand hormone therapy and nonhormone therapy treatment options.
  • Review menopause-related changes to sleep, mood, and cognition

Medical Breast and Genetics 101 Course

By participating in this activity, attendees should be able to

  • Review breast cancer statistics and risk factors and the importance of identifying women at increased risk.
  • Discuss the different screening guidelines—who, when, and how.
  • Describe breast density classifications and recognize the implications of breast density.
  • Outline key features to the history and physical examination in women who present with breast or axillary mass, pain, or other breast changes.
  • Explore benign breast disease, and outline management options.
  • Provide an evidence-based overview of endocrine therapy for breast cancer chemoprevention.
  • Promote recognition of features of hereditary breast cancer syndromes.
  • Achieve proficiency in the communication of risk information to patients.

Opening Symposium—Precision Oncology for Midlife Women and Main Program—Midlife Women’s Health in the Era of Precision Medicine

By participating in this activity, attendees should be able to

  • Understand the role of precision oncology in midlife women’s health and the new strategies for screening and detection.
  • Recognize the challenges in providing accurate information to women in a world of misinformation.
  • Evaluate the role of Selective Estrogen-Receptor Modulators and the Tissue-Selective Estrogen Complex as potential treatment options at menopause.
  • Assess menopause management options, including how to manage women with complex medical conditions.
  • Review the management of hypertension, obesity, and the reproductive risk factors for cardiovascular disease in women.
  • Consider the role of ovarian hormones on cognitive health.
  • Understand the 2023 Nonhormone Therapy Position Statement of The North American Menopause Society and how to translate these guidelines to practice.
  • Explore skin changes with age and rheumatologic issues at midlife.
  • Discuss breast cancer risk estimation and modeling and exogenous hormones in the high-risk patient.
  • Appreciate the intersectionality in women’s experiences of midlife healthcare.
  • Evaluate sexual health issues at midlife, including orgasmic dysfunction, vulvodynia, and pelvic floor issues.
  • Become familiar with what we have recently learned about dementia and Alzheimer disease.
