Web Site Links

The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) reviews other Web sites identified as having a commitment to women's health. This section contains the Society's recommendations along with handy links listed below by topic. Sites are distinguished using these categories:

       Nonprofit Organization Sites
Nonprofit Sites of Interest Outside North America
       Educational Institution Sites
   Government Sites
   Commercial For Profit Sites

NAMS Internation Coalition of Menopause Organizations (NICOMO)

Selection Criteria

NAMS uses the following criteria when selecting links:

  • The site must contain accurate, current information – updated at least annually.
  • The content of the site should ideally be within the scope of menopause. However, the issues of concern for midlife women and those related to menopause are very broad, including such topics as smoking, diet, stress, etc.
  • The format should be consumer friendly, not just for healthcare providers or researchers – but the site does not need to have a consumer section.
  • No site that sells a product other than information will be included. Sites may offer valuable health-related products, such as health newsletters, educational materials, and reading materials.
  • The site must be written in English. However, if NAMS has a reviewer/s fluent in Spanish or French, sites that provide information in either of these languages may be reviewed as an offering to site visitors seeking material in these languages.

Although NAMS has carefully selected these sites, being linked does not imply that NAMS subscribes to all the content included in the sites. In particular, NAMS does not endorse any specific product or service. Note that the absence of a site from this list does not imply disapproval by NAMS.

Recommend a Site for Linking

If you would like to suggest a site to be included in the NAMS recommendations, contact us. Note that NAMS reserves the right to determine which sites will be linked. Should NAMS link to a site, a reciprocal link is appreciated.
