The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) is no longer associated with Changes, a magazine for consumers distributed through healthcare providers’ offices. NAMS had provided editorial oversight and, hence, content credibility, for the first three annual issues (2006, 2007, and 2008). Last year, the publisher, Affinity Magazines, materially breached its contract with NAMS. The recently published 2009 issue (pink cover) of Changes was produced and distributed by the publisher without review of the editorial content and advertising copy by NAMS. Notwithstanding references which remain on the Changes Web site which indicate that the magazine is the “Official Consumer Magazine for The North American Menopause Society” or that Changes is a consumer magazine for NAMS, pleased be advised that this consumer magazine is no longer associated with NAMS in any respect. |
