Not Guilty By Reason of Menopause

Leigh Anne Jasheway-Bryant
Berkeley, CA; Celstial Arts: 2008
112 pages

"You might be menopausal if your little black dress is made from terry cloth."

For every peri- and postmenopausal woman, this is your book! Those endless menopause-related complaints that only a woman with similar experiences can relate to are the basis for this very funny book. As you flip through the pages, you will laugh at the musings of Leigh Anne Jasheway-Bryant.

Ranting, feeling frustrated, and discomfort are replaced by jokes. With so much confusing information on management of the so-called "change of life," the author offers nothing more than the chance to look at this transition from the other side.

As they say, and as this book proves, laughter can be the best medicine. As an academic, and a woman all too familiar with the change of life, it gave me a chuckle.
