BHT beyond Oprah and Dr. Phil
In response to the confusion generated from the "Oprah" and "Dr. Phil" TV shows surrounding the use of custom-compounded bioidentical hormone therapy (BHT) for treatment of menopause-related symptoms, we have enhanced the BHT information on the NAMS Web site.
Updated charts of HT products
NAMS has updated its charts of hormone therapy products for postmenopausal use in the United States and Canada. You can download them from the NAMS Web site for no charge.
NAMS education on Medscape popular
Currently, thousands are learning more about menopause from NAMS educational programs posted on Medscape. With one program about HT that was posted 8 months ago, a total of 5,882 have earned CME/CE and 28,953 have read the material, including 5,723 physicians. Join the crowd and learn!
NAMS at other scientific meetings
NAMS participates in many scientific meetings around the world. Our President, Dr. JoAnn Pinkerton, is speaking at ACP (Philadelphia) in late April while our Executive Director, Dr. Wulf Utian, will be presenting NAMS sessions in May at ACOG (Chicago) and EMAS (London). If you're going to any of these scientific meetings, be sure to attend.
Need CME?
Did you know that there are currently 11 top-notch CME activities available through the NAMS Web site? And that there's no fee for NAMS members for these CME credits? Be sure to take advantage of these opportunities before they expire. (The textbook, offering an unprecedented 25 credits, expires at the end of October.)

Get your questions answered
Annual Meeting attendees always like to have their questions addressed in small settings. "At your request, we're pleased to announce the return of the roundtable sessions at the NAMS 2009 Annual Meeting," said Dr. Leon Speroff, Chair of the Scientific Program Committee. This is just one more reason to attend this year. Review the in-progress Preliminary Program posted on the NAMS Web site. Registration materials will be available soon.
And if you missed our previous e-mail announcement regarding the individual who has been selected to follow Dr. Utian as NAMS Executive Director...
Win recognition and cash prizes for your work
Researchers, this is your opportunity to present your work to menopause experts, either as a poster or oral presentation for top-scoring abstracts. Up to four poster prizes will be awarded, with $1,000 as the top prize. Act quickly, the deadline for submitting your abstracts is April 30.
