The Nominating Committee of the NAMS Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the Society's 2008-2009 Board officers, recently elected during the Society's 19th Annual Meeting: Dr. JoAnn Pinkerton (President), Dr. Cynthia Stuenkel (President-Elect), Dr. Steven Goldstein (Treasurer), Dr. Thomas Clarkson (Secretary), Dr. Victor Henderson (Immediate Past President), and Dr. Wulf Utian (Executive Director).
NAMS 2008 Annual Meeting Huge Success
Those of you who attended the NAMS meeting in Orlando can attest to the exceptional presentations, abstracts, and opportunities for networking. Many called it the best ever! Look for the abstracts in the Nov/Dec issue of Menopause. And, thanks to a grant from Ther-Rx Corporation, the free Webcast of all presentations will be available for a year starting November 1.
Consumer Survey Results Announced
More than 2,000 women responded to a consumer survey, "I think it's menopause...but could it be aging?" that was developed and distributed by NAMS through its free monthly e-newsletter, Menopause Flashes. The results were released during the Society's 2008 Annual Meeting, since the meeting's theme was "Is It Menopause or Is It Aging?" You'll be fascinated by the responses and learn more about counseling your patients.

Breast Care Education
A comprehensive pre-meeting CME Postgraduate Course about postmenopausal breast care was presented on September 24 in Orlando. Highlights from the course will be presented within a NAMS/Medscape CME program that will launch in November. NAMS appreciates the generous grant from Eli Lilly and Company that made these educational initiatives possible.
Poster Prizes Awarded
We are pleased to recognize the recipients of the 2008 Poster Prizes announced during the NAMS 2008 Annual Meeting.

More about the NAMS HT Position Statement
Take a look at the latest issue (Sept/Oct) of Menopause Management for Dr. Wulf Utian's personal clinical take on the new NAMS position statement:
"Estrogen and progestogen use in postmenopausal women: July 2008 position statement of The North American Menopause Society."

Oral or Transdermal ET?
A new, interactive, case-driven Test & Teach CME activity focuses on how to counsel a symptomatic early postmenopausal woman on selecting oral versus transdermal estrogen therapy. This new program, presented by Dr. Robert Wild, is posted on Medscape and is available free, thanks to a grant from Ther-Rx Corporation.

We don't want to eradicate it...
